Mercy Health Partners Names Board Officers

 The Mercy Health Partners Board of Trustees announced that officers were elected at their recent annual meeting. Mr. James F. Clemente, principal with the accounting form of Snyder & Clemente of Kingston, was re-elected to a one-year term as Chairman of the Mercy Health Partners Board. Serving as Vice Chairman is Mr. Robert J. Knowles, Jr., principal with Knowles Associates, Insurance Consultants of Scranton, who was also re-elected for one year. Atty. Matthew E. Haggerty, publisher and CEO of Times Shamrock Communications, Scranton, was elected Secretary/Treasurer. In addition, the Board also announced that Mr. Mark T. Mitchell of Tunkhannock was approved as a new member of the Mercy Health Partners Board of Trustees. Mr. Mitchell is the current chairman of the Mercy Tyler Hospital Board of Trustees. Mercy Tyler, the former Tyler Memorial Hospital, merged with Mercy Health Partners on January 1, 2010.   

Also serving on the Mercy Health Partners Board of Trustees are: Mercy Health Partners President & CEO, Kevin S. Cook; Mary Jane K. DiMattio, Ph.D., Lake Ariel; Christopher J. Dressel, Jr., M.D., Scranton; Jeremiah W. Eagen, M.D., Scranton; Elizabeth Kulkarni, Clarks Summit; James B. Mileski, Hanover Township; Judge Terrence R. Nealon, Scranton; Sr. Mary Helen Nugent, RSM, Dallas; Henry J. Sallusti, Scranton; John M. Starcher, Jr., Catholic Healthcare Partners, Cincinnati, OH; Natalie G. Solfanelli, Scranton and Sister Mayon Sylvain, RSM, Exeter. 

Mercy Health Partners, sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy, is part of Catholic Healthcare Partners, a multi-congregational health system. 

Mercy Health Partners is comprised of Mercy Hospital, Scranton, Mercy Special Care Hospital, Nanticoke and Mercy Tyler Hospital, Tunkhannock. The system is licensed for over 300 hospital beds and serves a network of more than 700 physicians throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania. The healthcare system is served by 400 volunteers. 

Mercy Health Partners has been an integral part of Northeastern Pennsylvania for over 100 years.
